digital broadcast video playback systems
I am looking for info on the new digital playback systems that are replacing the cart systems in a lot of broadcast stations.
I am building a broadcast system for streaming video on internet and cell phone casting(Podcasting)

For your purposes the broadcast systems may be overkill. A healthy server setup with lots of fast storage would play out the video without getting into broadcast quality video servers, which are in the $100K+ range and up. Check out Omneon, SeaChange, Thomson Grass Valley, and Harris Corp for information on the broadcast servers.
