I made an image with DVD Studio Pro, burned it with Toast and had it verified- fine. Played back on a standalone player with serious digital artifacts (blocks) but showed none of that when played back on a G5 or Macbook Pro..?
It’s an SD DVD made from a HDV timeline that was exported thru compressor combined with material from a dvd that I ripped with MPEG Streamclip. Artifacts were visible in both the ‘HDV’ and ripped material.

    Any suggestions?

It would probably make more sense to post this in the DVDSP forum.

There are no important specs listed here.

For best playback of DVD-Rs you should never encode video higher than 7Mbps and audio should be encoded as ac3.

You are right, of course. Let’s move this thread to DVD-SP forum. Sorry, mods!
