Sorry for the dumb question, but I’m more of a shooter than an editor. I’ve got a project that I’ve edited in FCP on my macbook pro, and now I need to dump it to digibeta. I’ll need to rent a deck, and I guess I’ll also need an interface like an AJA IO, right? How difficult or easy is this type of setup? Is print to tape pretty straightforward?

    Thanks

yeah edit to tape with an AJA I/O would work.

it would be A LOT less costly to you if you just
export a 10-bit uncompressed file to an external
drive and took it to a post house to do the layback for you.

not to mention potential frustration if you’ve not done it before.

I have a lot of clients that bring in files to do digibeta dubs here.

Thanks for the advice. Actually just spoke with the producer, and that’s what we’re looking into. I like avoiding frustration.

    Cheers…
