I have a MAC Pro G5 tower. 2 x 3 Ghz Dual Core Inter Xeon, 5gb of memory, running 10.4.8. I’m thinking about outputing my sequences from FCP to digibeta tapes. What accesories, plugins, devices will I need (besides a digibeta deck?. Any help or info will be greatly appreciated.

You’ll need a capture card like the ones AJA.com and Decklink.com offer.

And if you are just outputting your DV sequence to digibeta, than that is about it. But if you want to work with uncompressed footage, you’ll do good to get a SATA RAID that can handle uncompressed, like the ones CalDigit.com has to offer.

Oh, and a broadcast monitor if you want true representation of colors for color correcting.

Or an AJA Io which is an external box. The full Io has Analog and Digital I/O while the Io LD is a digital I/O only which will work fine for Digi Beta. No cards to install, runs off Firewire.

Why do I forget about AJA I/O?

    That is a great device.

You can send a second video signal from either AJA product as a reference signal. We’ve done it here when needed.

Come on. AJA or Decklink ain’t frickin’ Targa Cine. These gadgets output good enough signal for DigiBeta to sync on incoming SDI.
