Yup. They’re called DV cameras. They’re cheap, the quality is far better than memory stick camcorders (at the price), the tapes are dirt cheap and you can keep them forever or reuse them. DV requires no rendering in FCP. You can tell FCP what sections to capture and have a nice cup of tea whilst it does it (or coffee if you must).
Why on earth would you want to use a cheap memory stick camcorder with an expensive piece of edit software?
