I’m looking for a particular film like look and just want to diffuse the dark areas a little. I’m useing BCC AVX on an AVID adrenaline. I don’t want to cut mattes etc. to do this. Is there a way to reverse the glow thresholds to work on the blacks instead of highlights?
    Thanks,
    Brian

    Hi,

You can use the built-in pixelchooser in the Glow filter to matte out the areas of interest and the filter will only apply to that portion of the clip. This should generate the desired effect.

Or you could use the Film Process filter and select the shadow diffusion preset from the preset pop-up. It’s a slightly different effect but worth a look nonetheless.

    I hope this helps.

    Peter.
