Diffuse Glow in After Effects
Posted by Cow_fan on September 1, 2006 at 1:17 amIn Sony Vegas, there’s this cool effect called Diffuse Glow. How do you guys emulate it in After Effects 7? Thanks.

September 1, 2006 at 6:42 pmIf it’s what I think it is, try duplicating your layer (if you only have one) OR adding an adjustment layer to the top (if you have multiple layers).
Apply a fast blur or gaussian blur effect to this top-most layer. Change its blending mode (screen if you want to brighten up, multiply to darken, or Overlay for drama). This will give a blurry glow to your footage. Adjust the opacity of this layer and/or the blur amount of the effect to taste.
I hope this is close to what you are after.
