    Hi

    I’m doing a mashup of youtube videos…
I’ve downloaded the youtube videos as flv’s then transcoded them in MPEG Streamclip to Prores LT…however they are different sizes. I imported them as optimized media…however they are not transcoding…is this to do with different frame sizes?

    Cheers,
    Jon

If you’ve already transcoded with MPEG Streamclip to ProRes them they are already optimized for FCPX and don’t need further transcoding – so FCPX won’t do anything further with them.

Are you having problems with resizing your clips?

    Hi Simon

No, I’m having trouble importing the clips..was thinking it is non PAL or NTSC sizes…like 720 x 480 etc…
either that or FCPX isn’t liking Prores LT…

    Cheers,
    Jon

I ran a test of your workflow – FLV to MPEG Streamclip, export ProResLT (640×360), import into FCPX (copying file to Events folder). Clip plays fine in the Browser, and when edited into a 1080 timeline.

I’d suspect that it might be how you are exporting from MPEG Streamclip … could you let use know your export settings?

    Hi Simon

Thanks for your help – FCPX needed its preferences deleted… thanks to preference manager!

    Cheers,
    Jon
