different editors sharing same material
I am part of series of documentaries project that will be shot in full HD, and edited at the same place by different editors .and we are in a stage of working on the set up and putting a list of equipment that we believe will make our system run best and our work goes smoothly, and I would like to have your suggestion regarding the set up
we are going to be x editors (x edit final cut studio 2 systems) working with the same material and so we thought that the best thing would be is working a system that will be fiber optically linked to two servers. we’re thinking of using Xsan. and Final Cut server (does any of you have experience with those two? is this the best thing to go with? any alternatives?)we would appreciate any ideas. suggestions or any thoughts

That’s really the question! Until you answer that… you have NO WAY of knowing what’s the best solution for you.
So what’s “X”? Is it two? Fifteeen? Twenty? It really does matter.

It depends abit on your budget. Xsan – Promise Raids and xserves is Apples prosolution. A bit pricey, but it works great.
