Different color/gamma in Quicktime Player – MAC OSX
Hi everyone, I’m editing a project in Premiere Pro CC, mostly RED Epic footage. I’ve done a first grade and exported an H264 to put on Vimeo for client review. I play the file in Quicktime player and it looks different – it’s washed out, less color, looks like a different gamma setting. I play it in VLC player and it looks just like it did on my timeline in Premiere. I uploaded to Vimeo, and it looks just like my timeline in Premiere as well. The quicktime player looks different. Why would that be, and how can it be corrected?
My MAC Pro is a dual monitor setup, both set to Adobe RGB colour space in display settings.
I’ve also attached a photo so you can see the difference. top left is QT player, bottom right is VLC and top right is premiere timeline.
