    Hello,

when working in a NTSC DV timeline what is the difference between exporting as a:

“Quicktime Movie”>current setting> check make movie self contained movie
    and
    Quicktime Conversion defualt setting

Are one of these “better” than the other. I know that doing the “self contained movie” takes a lot less time but are there quality differences. And I know that exporting just as a QT movie (without making “self contained” only is really exporting a “refernce movie” that needs the associated render files to be present in order to playback successfully…

What are people choosing as their export options when exporting full frame video…? I’ve been trying different things for a long time …and have always wondered what others do.

“Quicktime Movie”>current setting> check make movie self contained movie … creates a new media file representing your edit without any recompression
“Quicktime Conversion”>defualt setting … creates a new media file representing your edit but with recompression to the default codec

unless you need to recompress to a different codec, then Export > Quicktime Movie… with current settings will give you the best quality
