    HI
i just finished my demo reel using AE and premiere
i did some of the stuff on AE and the most editing in premiere
and i realized i can do everything in AE
so what can premiere do that AE cant?
i know AE is for effects but still have the option to edit using layers
    hope i made myself clear

AE is much MUCH slower at previewing video. It is not meant as an NLE, and for any kind of simple editing work, you are doing yourself a disservice by using AE when you can use PP.

I think David nailed the points. You have to remember that AE is a compositing/VFX app and not an editing application. If you want to edit video, you will need an application such as Premiere Pro.
