I am a new member to the forum. I wonder if anyone out there can help me with a Final Cut Pro HD (version 4.5) question. I need to create text/captions in Chinese, Ukrainian and Spanish. From what I understand my Mac (G-5 Dual Processor) has the fonts available but I need to tell Final cut where they are. This is my problem, how do I do this? The only font choices I see in the text generator are the standard fonts I have available for all my apple programs. Can any one out there help me? I am currently suing OS 10.3.8

You must have fonts that are TRUETYPE (Type 2) fonts for use in the native FCP text generators.

ALL fonts for your Mac programs can go into the Mac’s regular font folder (FCP does not have to be “told” where they are.)

You can usually find TRUETYPE fonts available with many language characters on the web.

    NOTE:
For more creative options you really should be using “Title 3D” (from Boris) for your titles and not the native FCP text generators.

“Title 3D” CAN utilize both “Type 1” and “Type 2” fonts.
“Title 3D” is included with FCP on your original FCP installer disks.
You must CHOOSE to install “Title 3D” (and “Title Crawl”) when you have the install disk in the Mac.
