Am new to MC6, so please excuse my ignorance,

I decided to run some tests, i exported a 1 minute sequence as a QT movie using different codecs and this what i got:

    CODEC SIZE

    Avid codec : 1.19 GB
    Animation codec: 10 GB
Avid DN x HD codec: 1.02 GB
    H.264 codec: 0.716 GB
    No compressor codec: 13.9 GB
    Avid 1:1x codec: 1.21 GB

And all the exported QT movies look the same at least to the naked eye, can someone explains to me whatis going on ?

    Thanks.

Other than uncompressed, codecs have a data rate associated with them. And based on that data rate, the resulting file will have a different size assuming everything else about the file is the same.

    From your list:

    Avid codec: which one?
    Avid DNxHD codec: which one? 36, 80, 145, 220, 440, etc.?
H.264 codec: not knowing the other data rates, nor the data rate of this one, it will be the most compressed as it is a longGOP format and not I frame.

As far the differences between the different “uncompressed”, it is hard to tell the reason there. What was the size and frame rate of original file?
