    Hi there,

On one of my first HVX200 shoots, where I didn’t understand the workflow at all, I converted the P2 clips to Quicktime files on site (using the log and transfer window), and never saved the actual P2 files. So I only have the quicktime files and no original raw P2 data. I would like a recommendation on how to proceed with these files. Are they lower res than the originals? Should I back them up? Can I somehow convert the quicktime files back to raw P2 data?

    Thanks for any help…

[Jonathan Skurnik] ” data. I would like a recommendation on how to proceed with these files. “

Back them up. Just like you would the original files. Just know that now you are limited to ONLY using these with FCP.

[Jonathan Skurnik] “re they lower res than the originals? “

    Nope. Same quality.

[Jonathan Skurnik] “Should I back them up?”

    Yup.

You can’t convert them back into the format that the card records. But I hear that some software (MXF4QT export) will convert it to MXF. But I don’t know for sure.

I haven’t done this, but I believe the latest version of Raylight “makes” P2 cards from QT. https://dvfilmstore.com/raylight-for-mac.html
