did rendering .motn files slowly ever get fixed?
I remember updating from fcp 5.01 to 6.01 and one thing
that happened was .motn files from motion took way
too long to render.did that ever get fixed?
what version?

NO.
As a matter of fact, under 6.0.5, it seems that Motion files tend to crash FCP quite frequently when you are zoomed out wide on your timeline, say a five minute chunk showing.
