    Hi all:

While trying to ingest P2 DVCPRO HD files, something I’ve done thousands of times before, suddenly this happened: the clip gets transferred in Log & Transfer as usual, but once it’s finished, an error message pops up: “Device DIsconnected. The device was disconnected. A partially ingested clip was created”.

Needless to say, the P2 files I’m transferring are stored on the computer’s HD; that is., I am NOT transferring directly from the card. Looking at the created clip, it doesn’t look truncated; to the contrary, it has the same length as the original and seems to play fine. In other words, the clip seems okay, but I hadn’t seen this error before. All of this using FCP 7.0 in Snow Leopard 10.6.4.

Anyone knows what this error is about?

Run Software update to get to 7.0.3 for starters.

But you might just trash preferences and see if the error goes away… Apparently, it’s actually working OK, right?

I know this original post was a year ago but I was curious if it ever resolved itself or if you discovered the culprit ?

Same here. Just started a couple weeks ago. Every clip, when it is finished ingesting, I have to click that error before it will start ingesting the next one… So I can’t just Log & Transfer, I have to click that message twice after each clip is transferred. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hi. I’ve been having this dialog box “The device was disconnected. A partially ingested clip was created.” After each clip has been added in the Log and Transfer window. How can I stop it from coming out every time? I’m loading Canon 5D MkII files saved before on an external HDD. Using Final Cut Pro 7.0.3. Thanks for your help.
