I’m working on a short film, but for some reason the video quality has deteriorated since I first started working with it. There’s this funny interlacing effect where you see the horizontal lines on the edges of things, especially when people are moving fast. It’s kind of a double image made out of interlacing. I’m almost positive that the footage was not initially like this, but now the footage gets like that the moment I import it, even when I change the import settings. The quality doesn’t seem to be deteriorating increasingly– it’s not getting any worse than it is now.
The interlacing problem happens in both the canvas and the regular viewer. If I import it to Quicktime it’s still there.
This is my first time using this camera with final cut pro. I’m using Final Cut Pro 6. I’ve left the camera and my lap top somewhere so I don’t have the camera model or processor yet, but I’ll post those tomorrow, along with a screenshot. I realize those are probably important.

    Hi Noah,
if you see interlacing in QT player, is because is over there.
You don’t say which kind of footage you are working with.
Neither you say how you are monitoring.
Interlacing issues can only be properly seeing in interlaced monitors or Tvs.
    best,
    rafael
