  • DESPERATE HELP!! Audio popping sound?? How do I get rid of it??

Posted by Justin Dee on October 4, 2005 at 1:18 am

    Hi all,…

I’m desperate,…I’ve nearly finished my project for a job with a deadline in under 2 days and need help fast.

I was editing away and accidently inserted a audio track into/sliced into my audio soundtrack song. I noticed the problem a few steps later and Apple Z’d it but couldn’t go back far enough to erase my stuff up. I now have a popping and bubbling sound that exists over that song??? The sound doesn’t exist when the playhead is playing over the other song in the project. It’s only audible oer this song?? Why??

I tried importing the track again and the sound is still there?

I’m running out of time and need help fast!!

Any help would be greatl appreciated.

Did this song originate from an mp3? IF so, use quicktime or iTunes or whatever you want to convert it to a 48k 16 bit aiff.

I should add that you should not use FCP to do the conversion, do it outside of the app.

Sometimes when I run into weird audio issues I delete my render files. When I rerender the problems disappear. Just a thought.

Yeah, use render manager or the finder to delete any/all render files and re-render.

    Thanks guys!!

I exported the song as a AIFF file and imported it back into FCP and she works a treat now.

Thanks again..got me out of a pickle.

    Regards,..
