Desktop Video 9.7.7 BSOD
Posted by Menno Van dijk on August 27, 2013 at 9:12 amRunning Windows 7 with Adobe Creative Cloud
and a BM UltraStudio USB 3the BM Desktop Video 9.7.7 will give an occasional DSOD.
This always happens when working with After Effects CCAre there any known issues with this combination?

August 29, 2013 at 2:42 pmGo to Station Drivers and grab the Asmedia 1.16.4 USB 3 driver and the latest firmware. Try that with the Blackmagic.

August 30, 2013 at 2:26 pmYes they will. I install them all the time. If they are not then you have a bios issue. What bios version are you running?

August 30, 2013 at 7:05 pmAfter updating the driver in the decvice manager,
the is no output from the usb anymore.
In the black magic control panel I could not adjust any settings.
AE and Premiere Pro CC did not show any output eighter. My system Bios is version 4005.
Rolling back to the previous driver and there is output again.

August 30, 2013 at 8:37 pmDid you check Device Manager after you ran the Wizard once to see what was showing up. Did the Wizard restart the system when you ran it the first time? If so did you run it again to install the driver?
That bios version should be fine. The 4210 is fine as well.Eric-ADK

September 6, 2013 at 3:44 pmDo you have any other USB devices on the USB3 port paired with the 1 the Blackmagic is in? Do you have any USB Hubs plugged in or USB ports in your monitors?

October 31, 2013 at 10:53 amAny updates on this? I got the same motherboard and the same problem. I get BSOD with Blackmagic intensity shuttle in AE.
I was able to stop the BSOD’s in AE by unchecking “Scale and letterbox Output to fit Video Monitor” in preferences. Although this is not a good solution.
I think it has something to do with the USB 3.0 on the P9X79. I am also getting BSOD when I have my ICY BOX Raidsonic on USB 3.0 and try to save a project in premiere pro.
It would be awesome if anybody had a solution 🙂
Kind regards
Sebastian
