I have searched the internet for: Adobe Premiere desktop shows through workspace and have found nothing. We are a media class with CS3. We have computers a year apart, so new computers in the Fall, 2007 and new computers in Fall, 2008. The 2008 computers have this annoying habit of all of sudden showing the desktop through the workspace. It happens randomly on all the 2008 computers so I don’t know if it’s the computers or the CS3 version. Sometimes it happens so often the students can’t work. When it happens the bleed through is so bad you can’t find Save, Not Save on the popup menu. You have to click around until something happens, hoping you hit the right place.
The 2007 computers never do it.
The computer guy for our school said he saw some fix where you delete the preferences by:

Press and hold Alt + Control + Shift immediately after launching Premiere.
Another blog says hold Shift+Control when launching Premiere.

We’ve tried this with limited success – or rather we have no idea if it worked. I think he found those fixes because Photoshop is doing it too, leading me to believe it might be CS3 and not the computers. We also increased the page file but that did nothing.

Any help or pointing me to a blog with fix info would be greatly appreciated!

Do all the computers(2008) that do this have the same type of video card?? and do you know what brand/model?

Try updating drivers for the video card. Some video cards are not compatible with Premiere, especially On-Board cards. I also teach Premiere and have seen some awful problems with on-board cards and Premiere and Encore.

Both you guys mentioned video cards and that sounds hugely promising as a fix, considering the 2007 computers don’t do it. I will check all video cards, update drivers and get back to you. Thank you!!
