  Descending Twister Effect?

  I have completed the “Energy” tutorial on the VCP site, but am wondering how I might adjust it so that it looks as though the energy is descending downward, kind of like a tornado would as it reaches down from the sky . . . he only shows it as a full blown twister. Any ideas? I’m still quite new to all of this. Thanks!!
