  • Depth of field suddenly stopped working

I have a simple comp with multiple 3d layers and a camera set up. The depth of field was working fine with focus moving from front to back and now everything is suddenly just flat. Depth of field and blur are enabled, all layers are still in 3d space – I have no idea what happened. What did I do or what could have happened?

can you show us a screenshot of your viewport and your timeline with the camera layer showing all properties?

However, when I get back to active camera view, I still have no depth of field.

well, for a start your blur level is very high(I almost never touch that property), you should start resetting things to the default values and if you want more blur increase apperture. maybe recreate a camera from a preset and check if it gets back then start copying/pasting values untill you see whats making it go away

I tried all of this and nothing fixes the problem. It has to be some other setting that toggles the depth of field on and off or a pita bug. Nothing makes sense.

When I put in a new camera and start completely from scratch, none of my setting modifications have any effects on the depth of field. Everything stays flat.

I did add a 2d layer at one point but that was made 3d immediately. I mean, I made it a 3d layer immediately to make it work it within the other layers.

This started when I applied an ease to a position key frame on one of the layers. I have no clue how that could have caused this but I still cant get my depth back.
