Is there any way of reducing flicker when rendering a scene with Depth of Field enabled? I’ve tried everything but there’s still a noticeable flicker in the blurred areas when passing visible light, certain polys etc.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I’m having the same problem (been having it ever since I got the darned thing). For stills, the DOF filter works great. For motion, it flickers all over the place. I refuse to believe no one else is facing this issue!

I’ve tried everything from changing anti-aliasing settings, lens intensity, radiosity, sharpness… doesn’t affect it in the least. I’ll be emailing Maxon right after this, but please post if you’ve either seen this problem or (better yet) solved it.

    Hi there,
I know im coming 7 years later but I face the same problem and tried quite a lot of things. I got tired of tweeking and rendering and seeing that same flicker again and again. I would not like to use a tricky blur in post production.
I am using the built-in DOF with 80mm lens and volumetric light.
Flicker appears when blurring the edge of my object and the volumetric light.

I hope since all those years you found a solution that you could share with me.

    Thanks,
    Jeremy
