I have a camera with it switched on. Two 3D layers, one close in front and a far BG layer. The focus distance is set to the front layer. I think I should be able to affect the BG blur by adjusting the aperture. Doing nothing. I know I am missing something, as this should be simple. I have played around with blur level also, to no avail.

You’re right that both of those should affect the background blur. Make sure you’re in the classic 3D renderer, that you’re viewing the active camera, and that the viewer is not in draft mode.

If none of that works, maybe post a screenshot of your complete UI so we can see what you see and try to help you troubleshoot.

    Renderer, that was it!

Thx very much, I knew it was something simple.
