    Hi Cow-people,
I’m looking to submit a concept to The History Channel, and I was hoping that in the AE universe someone might know the art director/motion graphics person or the whoever I might submit this to. Phone number or email would be great.

This is a work in progress, but feedback would really help.

    Thanks in advance!

I like it. I think these are the things that jumped out at me most, that I’d finesse more if it were my project:
–Try some softer movements between keyframes (ease) and practice more on making your movements serve the purpose. I feel like I notice them too much.
–Some places where you shifted scenes seemed to have a bit of a dark hole. Maybe you could tighten up some of the transitions.
–The camera movement just after the explosion near the horse is confusing to me. Was it meant to be a camera jiggle from the explosion?
–Your first scene goes well with me until you get an extreme angle on your backgrounds. I think you’ve pushed your movement too far. Some of the coolness is lost for me.
–Your “Civil War” logo is nice enough, but the presentation of it seems like it could use a bit more interest.

If I were you, I’d hold on getting it into the hands of the History channel just yet and see what I could do to finesse it more into prime-time.

Thank you for the feedback Greg.

Some of what you spoke too I had already decided to address. But… your feedback was excellent. Let me see what I can do to work through your points.

    Hey BB,

not sure what you used for the explosions, but perhaps you could make them a bit more dirt, sand, grass and gunpowder, and less kerosene and plasma-core 😉

It’s a bit over the top + it contrasts even more because of the orange color. if you can get them more monochrome, it will probably also heighten the impact of your ending: the logo will be the first use of color we see.
But get a less effects-y way to introduce the logo. perhaps a dissolve of the elements one by one can be enough…

    Hey Flip,
Thanks for the imput, but try as I might, changing the modes on the explosions just did not work out. I’m working on version 2, I think you might like waht happens.
