Delivery Workflow: Content, CDN, DVD?
I should preface this by saying that I’m new to video production and have a background as a still photographer who is positioning himself as a multimedia producer. I’ve completed my first corporate job and have some questions about video delivery workflow.
What are you doing in terms of review and approval delivery of multi-
cam setups. Do you just submit Camera A for review and approval, or
are you showing them the take from each and every camera. Also, I wonder what others are doing in the review and approval
workflow process in general. For example, we decided for this job that we would at first send the
client only –A-roll, Camera A–footage with burned in time code to get approval on interview sound bites. The client will see the footage (A- roll, Camera A) in its entirety (with nominal pre-trimming to
eliminate producer’s voice) compressed at low quality, uploaded to a CDN. They will see no B-roll, and no Camera B, at this point.Once we get approval on the sound bites, we’ll do a rough cut–which
will then include edited b-roll along with Camera B selects–for a
second round of review and approval. In sum, how much of the raw footage are you delivering on a multi-cam
setup, and how many steps do you allow for in the review and approval
process. Also, we are uploading to a CDN. Is this the standard, or
are you burning to DVD, or uploading to your website? Thanks in advance for all your feedback.
Cheers,
