I was under the impression that FCP X periodically removed unused render files. But it doesn’t appear to be the case.

I have a project that I’ve been working on for a while. I finished editing a week or so ago. I looked at the render folder for the project and it was over 8 GB. In FCP X I selected Delete Project Render Files and I deleted only unused render files. The result (in Finder) was the folder size was now 4 GB.

I should point out that I leave background render off and only manually render.

This isn’t really an issue. It’s just that I thought, or thought I had heard that FCP X periodically deletes unused render files.
