I have deleted a .MXF file from XDCAM Transfer thinking it would just remove it from the XDCAM Transfer sources. Now the .MXF file is gone from its location on local storage hard drive and is not in the Trash bin. Did XDCAM Transfer really delete this file from the hard drive, if so why is it not in the trash bin. Dose XDCAM Transfer move file into some other folder when they are deleted with in the application? Is there any way to get this file back?

Deleting from Transfer will delete from the media or archive. The file gets deleted immediately from the filesystem and does not show up in the trash. This is why there is a warning and a request to confirm, along the lines of “The file [filename.mxf] will be deleted from the media immediately, Are you sure?” The file may still be on your HDD but you are going to have to try using an un-delete utility or something of the like, as the file has been erased from the drive’s look up table. Sorry..
