  • Deleting file renders that are not listed in Render Manager

My hard drive has plenty of -FIN files even though nothing shows up in Render Manager. I guess I can just delete them, as they can always be recreated, but does anyone know what would cause rendered files on a system drive to be absent in Render Manager’s list?

Not sure about this, but seems to me they’ll stay there as long as there is a project file containing a sequence that references these files. Until you delete that sequence from the project file it’s in, and then reopen it, they will remain. I don’t work on copies of project files ever and don’t seem to see a bunch of renders I don’t need because of this I guessing.

In my case, the Render Manager is blank so I guess it has lost track. In general, is it okay to delete all -FIN- files from your hard drive? I mean so long as you save the project file, you can always re-render, correct?

This has just happened to me in the past 2 days, as well…

Nothing shows up when I launch Render Manager, in fact, the whole window has changed how it appears on the screen!

I have trashed preferences twice to no avail, done numerous total shut downs and restarts…It has not changed.

I took the gamble and trashed everything in my Render Files folder. (I only had one project, though…) and re-rendered everything, since that’s what I was planing on doing anyhow. No ill effects so far, but no real solution, either. ;-(

If I figure it out, I’ll post it, and please do the same!!
