DELETING EFFECTS in FCPX
I know this have been discussed before and the tip was to mark the effect in the inspector and use delete. It have never worked for me. I just get that “not possible tone” out of my lodspeakers and nothing happens. Yes I now to unmark the blue square but I really want to delete some effects completely to get a little more space in the inspector. Any other ideas?

Noticed this a few times. You have to make sure that the clip is really selected (even though the Inspector says so). Then select the effect and press big delete.

I’m guessing you’re trying to delete the default effects that automatically appear in the inspector. Color, Transform, Crop, etc can’t be deleted. The ones you add on can be deleted.

Got this from Lee Pattersson on the forum fcp.co and finally it worked. i am so happy hate unsolved problems. Thanks everyone. lee wrote and it worked:
are you hitting the back-space key or the delete key? Back-space is the guy to use.
So select clip in timeline>go to inspector tab>Video>click effect name>backspace key

Ah…yes. On my standard issue Apple keyboard the backspace key is labeled “delete”. Glad you got it figured out.
