  • Deleting a Track…I’m Kicking Myself!

okay – I’m feeling quite silly, but I do have to ask this question. I’ve been working with Sony Vegas since I believe “SVP 5”. I’m now using “SVP 10 Pro”. This is the first time I’ve run into this and can’t for the life of me figure it out.

I have 4 video tracks in the timeline. I want to delete one “Video” Track. When I right click on the track and choose “Delete Track”, it deletes all tracks. I sense all the tracks are linked somehow, but can’t seem to “unlink” them.

Can someone let me know what I missing here?

As usual, any help is greatly appreciated.

Try making sure the ignore event grouping icon on your toolbar is enabled…see if that helps.

    Thanks Steve –

I did try that, as well as a “slew” of other “on” “off” toolbar options, but no luck as of yet.

Make sure you don’t have the other tracks highlighted on the left.

Ran some test and i dont see what could be causing that problem
for you, unless you have some sort of parent/child tracks on there
or you have more than one track selected when you are deleting.

Press CTRL-SHIFT-A to DESELECT everything. Then delete the track. It is deleting all selected tracks. You just need to make sure the other tracks are NOT selected.

Thanks for the quick responses guys. The left track headers were indeed “highlighted” and that nice little shortcut “CTRL-SHIFT-A” did the trick.

While I do feel quite silly, I also appreciate the time and aggravation you saved me, so I’m glad I made the post.

    Thanks again.
