I need to deinterlace a series of Uncompressed Quicktime files (each is between 20GB and 39GB). I want to use the new Apple ProRes422 (HQ) to save space, but using the de-interlacing filter in Compressor isn’t working. I don’t want to have to go back and re-render them out of Final Cut (it would take a very long time and I’m sure many files are disconnected). Can anyone suggest another codec or program or method?

    Thanks for your help.

Are you using the de-interlace filter in filter section of the inspector in compressor? Don’t.
De-interlace via the pop-up in the frame control/resizing control section.

If that is what you are using, I have no idea why it is not working.
    Works here, using Compressor 3.

I have been shooting my shortfilm with a Sony Z1 1080i and would like to make it progressive. How do I do in Final Cut for best result? Or is their another better method?

    Thanks for answer!
