Deinterlacing
Good Morning.
I thought I had this figured out, and then I came across a post in this forum that has confused me once again. I shot a clip in 24P using a Canon HV30. It came out great and life was good until the deinterlacing subject came up. In a post here, someone mentioned that Canon doesn’t put flags in the movie that Sony can see so the de-interlacing is not performed and I will need another program to do that for me. Questions
1. To play on a computer, do I need to even do this? (deinterlacing)
2. Is other software exempt from this problem
3. Where would one find this program if Sony Vegas movie studio Platium can’t do it. ?Thank you for any help.

Check out Cineform Neoscene. It will capture your HV30 PF24 files as you expect them as.

Thank you. I did download the Demo, and it looks like it is what you need to get a true 24P at least from the HV20/30 I undertsand that the HV40 handles a true 24P. Wish they would come out with a firmware fix, but they (Canon) stand by thier stance that it should be the NLE companies since they just did a workaround with the HV20 HV30 to make 24P available. Oh well, it is what it is.
