When creating a DVD do you deinterlace the footage (if it was originally interlaced) so it displays correctly on progressive monitors (like computer monitors). Or should the DVD player on the computer take care of that?

In my experience not all DVD players will deinterlace correctly or at all.

If it will only be played on computer monitors then deinterlace, but if it will also be viewed on TVs then don’t.
