I’ve seen many books on how to produce DV films (I own at least one) but most of what I produce is corporate/documentary type pieces. Most of my training has been learning by doing but is there a book that provides tips on pre production, budgetting, planning, storyboarding, etc so my videos will flow more smoothly? I see so many manuals on amazon so I don’t know which one is the standard.

    Thanks.

    Look for Zettle.

    Fundamental video and television stuff.

After that, you will need ten or twelve other volumes. No kidding. Hit your local public and university libraries first. You can peruse the shelves and maybe check some out without investing.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”

Make your choice from these three. The best is by Rabige a standard for film schools, but doesn’t have producing info.
