Perhaps Im being obtuse, but I can find no way to change the font, size nor length of the default text in Vegas. I tried creating my own present, changing the length to 4 instead of 10 seconds, and while it
does save the font, the length reverts to 10 seconds the next time
I drag it into the timeline. The “new still image length” setting in preferences has no effect (obviously, since it is set to 3 sec and the default text is 10) What am I missing ? Thanks -

The length of a generated media event like Text is not savable. If you right-click and select Insert Generated Media…, the new event will be whatever you have set your “New still image length” to. If drag and drop it from the Media Generator window it will be 10 seconds. If you make a timeline selection the length of the event you want, and right-click and select Insert Generated Media…, the new event will fill the timeline selection.

Hi Rick, I think you posted to the wrong thread. No MP4’s or shaking going on here. This thread is about default text length for generated media.
