every time i make a new audio track in vegas pro 9, it automatically has 3 effects on it…EQ, TRACK NOISE GATE, AND A COMPRESSOR.

is there any way to turn OFF those default effects that are automatically loaded onto any and all audio tracks i make???

i personally like to begin with DRY tracks, and add effects as needed…

not many audiophiles prefer to start out w/ WET tracks; in my experience.

Yes, you can silence or remove those effects in the same way as you would do with videoFX

I don’t believe you can keep these effects from being in a new audio track, but after you delete them, you can duplicate that track over and over and save some time at least. You can also save as a template, once you have the amount of audio and video tracks the way you like. These effects are set to default,”Not effecting” unless you change them. So deleting them won’t change the sound, but will free up some processing power. Hope this helps, Danny

Right click on the track – Set default track properties…

Mike, first of all, the effects are set to “do nothing” by default. So you are starting with a “dry” track even though those effects are there.

To remove them by default, remove the effects and then right-click a blank spot on the track header. The pop up menu will include an option to set the default track properties.
