I am an on-line assistant editor and I am having issues DECOMPOSING sequences from off-line and uprezzing in on-line. We are currently on Avid Symphony Nitris 3.0, on a HP system.

When decomposing import and captured, the import images drop most names and repeat a couple of the import images throughout the seq. I end up having to cut in most of the import images and reset up the effects. If I decomp for import only, it works fine, but then I decomp that same seq for capture only in hopes that the import will relink, but the import images change names again. This adds a ton of time to my uprez and prep for the Online Editor.

Anyone else have these issues? How can I fix this?

    Shawn,

I would decompose offline captured media only with handles, if needed, at the uprezed resolution. Sounds like batch import files have lengthy file names that are being truncated in the decompose proccess. Which is possibly why the same file gets repeated in the sequence. If you need to know what files to import another way is to use the console command and the Dumpsourcesummary command. This will give you the full file name and original path. Then just batch import, should work just fine. Hope this helps.
