November 24, 2006 at 4:42 amHello,
We been trying to do the same, so far you can with ULTRA do a realtime test that the key looks okay for referance and lighting and keying setups. To test the screen you have to use the DV output from the camera as I do not think SDI, Component etc is supported.
Thanks,
Leo

December 3, 2006 at 4:46 amHello,
I got reply from Serious Magic that the software used Directshow Video for WIndows and Quicktime Codec Library. They support Uncompressed AVi and Quictime along with DV encoder. So seems I can not use the Blackmagic codec to output to as I get is audio with no video which is strange. They said they have not tested with Blackmagic and suggested I try a codec called Huffyuv I am going to test this out later today.
WIth Ultra you will shoot to a tape or drive etc, load the clips into Ultra as they are or edit in your software then outout the clips. Import into Ultra, then do your key and output the files back to a video file then out these back into your editor.
You will not be able to get a realtime chromakeyer. Where you can key in realtime then record it back to tape or digital etc.
Thanks,
Leo
