    Whats happenin guys.
I have been routinely capturing video via jvc mini dv deck. somehow, I can no longer capture video any more. I try to turn on the decklink video capture option, which somehow got turned off, and it will not turn on. I keep getting a message that says “decklink video capture could not be opened. please make sure that it is turned on and is not being used by another application or user. not sure what to do here. appreciate you insight.
    thanks

Are you sure you are using a DeckLink card? Usuually, you would capture DV through firewire.

I had a very similar message when I tried to capture yesterday…although mine specified the Falcone (sp?) card…and I don’t even know what is a Falcone card. I poked around on the video capture menu and and eventually saw a choice between the Falcone card and Windows AVI. I clicked Windows AVI and I was back in business.

I’m not suing the decklink card but capturing through a JVC mini-dv cam into the firewire port..but I’m wondering if you can find a configuration option in the Video menu like I did…
