Decklink – Vegas 7.0 no more 720×480?!
So, here’s a small problem we’ve run into lately… I’m not exactly sure at what point this problem cropped up, but I believe it was either Vegas 7.0b, or 7.0c. We’ve lost the ability to output to our Decklink at 720×480 from Vegas. We can only print to tape, or preview footage at 720×486 (despite having a render template for 480). Under the “Video Preview” options, we used to have the ability to conform footage to 480 or 486, but now just 486. Since we shoot a lot of footage on DV, it was great not having to fiddle with changing the 480 timeline to 486, or adjust the clips to the proper field.
Now, we’re unable to print to tape at anything other than 720×486, with the YUV codec, which means dumping the project into a new timeline, and adjusting for the extra fields, re-rendering etc.
Anyone have any thoughts on how we can fix this?
