Decklink Studio 2 720p to 1080p question playback
Hello,
This may be a silly question but I can’t seem to confirm it anywhere else. I’m in the market to buy a Blackmagic Decklink Studio 2 card for my Mac Pro “Nehalem” (Early 2009) system. Currently running FCP 6.0.6 on Mac OS X 10.5.8.
I shoot P2 720p 23.98 native on my HVX200a. My workflow is primarily to cut in 720p 23.98. But as far as previewing out to a monitor, is the Decklink Studio 2 card able to take real time playback out and upconvert to 1080p 23.98 psf via either HDMI or HD-SDI? I know it can down-convert on the fly, but I’m primarily interested in monitoring in 1080 23.98 since the only 720p playback available is 720 59.94.

It does not cross-convert.
You’ll set the card playback to match the footage.
All 720p is 720/59.94/6023.98 or 30 or 60p footage will play out fine choosing those settings.
