    Hi,

I have decklink sp. Everything works great except for the SDI output.

I have a hotronic SDI to analog converter. Through the converter when Final Cut Pro is not playing I can see the frame that the timeline cursor is resting on.

The moment I hit play I see the video playing normally on the computer screen but the monitor hooked up the to the SDI to analog converter still shows the same frame the cursor was on before I hit play. The moment I stop the video from playing the convertor monitor updates to the frame that the video stopped on.

I called hotronic. They felt that since i was seeing an image of whatever frame the cursor was on when it wasn’t playing and that it updated when the video stopped playing…the fault probably was with the decklink sp card. Because it isn’t possible for the converter to do a freeze fframe it just converts whatever you feed it. So it looks like the SDI to analog converter is working correctly.

    Any ideas wizards?

Your output settings are wrong in FCP. If your video output setting is not suitable for the video properties of your sequence, FCP will render single frames so you see it on the SDI output, but when you hit play it freezes.

Use the appropriate Blackmagic Easysetup and everything will be set back up.

Another FCP gotcha is if the Canvas window is set to anything other than “Fit to Window”
