DeckLink SP PCIe or DeckLink HD Extreme in Magma ExpressBox
I am trying to put together a portable hardware solution for my editing needs.
I use Final Cut Pro 5.1.4 at the moment, and in terms of input/output, I basically need:
– Capture of SD footage via analog inputs
– Capture of HDV and DVCProHD footage via FireWire
– Playback of HDV and DVCProHD footage on YUV SD (!) broadcast monitor
– Mastering of SD and HD footage via SDI output to DigiBetaDoes anyone know if the DeckLink SP (SD) can do the above, or do I need the next step up to HD (DeckLink HD Extreme). I will be outputting any HDV or DVCProHD footage directly via FireWire, so I have no need for HD-SDI i/o connections.
Also, this card will be placed into a Magma ExpressBox and connected to by MacBook Pro via ExpressCard/34. As far as I know, that is a x1 PCIe slot, so the “DeckLink SP” should work fine. However, the “DeckLink HD Extreme” is a x4 PCIe card – but if I don’t make use of the full bandwith (no uncompressed HD) and thereby only use the card in a way that is x1 PCIe compliant, is it an option?
Thank you in advance for your help!
