I’m hearing a strange thing, sort of a ‘phut phut phut’ on audio. Sounds like an audio sample rate problem but is only apparent on the Decklink audio output. Comes and goes intermittently. Not there if I listen to the Mac audio output. Tried two Multibridge’s and three different Mac CPUs and they all do it. Seems to happen only in the viewer, not the canvas.

Thought it might be hardware: tried different audio mixers, direct into speakers, balanced, unbalanced, levels up, levels down, no effect.

I’m at a Post Production house and their techies have been all over it, no luck. I’m using a MacPro Intel Quad Core 4Gb RAM, FCP 6.0, MacOS 10.4.10, Blackmagic Decklink 6.4 Multibridge Extreme. All audio 48KHz from DVCAM rushes. Music sample rate converted from 44.1KHz via iTunes AIFF export. Using Blackmagic PAL – DV Easy Setup.

I can’t believe this is normal. Any ideas?

Yeah…. it’s a known problem. Has been doing that same thing to me for MONTHS. I’m still on 5.4 drivers myself, so I see they haven’t fixed it @ 6.4 either.

I find it hard to believe that everyone in the world using decklink puts up with this problem.

    Hey.

I’ve got the same problem. But i found a way how to fix it.

    I am on:

    Mac Quad Core 3 Ghz
    5 GB RAM
    FCS 2.0
    Final Cut Pro 6.0.1
    BMD Multibridge Extreme
    BMD Drivers – 6.3
    Multibridge Drivers – 6.2

I had the problem when i was in 6.4 driver versions.

Now i downgraded to 6.3 and 6.2 and all works fine again.

Thanks mate, that worked a treat, although the techies here had a bit of trouble rolling back the firmware.

And no thanks at all to Blackmagic tech support, whose silence is deafening.
