  Decklink or Aja and which ones

  I’ve been work with Beta SP for awhile and just capturing through an off the shelf digital/analog convertor. Since I rarely needed timecode that wasn’t a problem. Now I’m having some big projects where I really need the timecode to make my life easier.

  I’ll be upgrading to v7 very shortly, so figured it would be a good time to get one of those cards. The Beta deck isn’t the only use for it either. We also have a canon XL-H1 so HD from its SDI ports would be also a welcome addition.

  I’m just confused on which I would need to allow both HD-SDI, and component SD for the Beta deck. It looks like I would want the Decklink HD Extreme or the AJA Xena LH. Any experience with either and what are the other benefits that I would experience by having these cards? Uses that I might not know about.
