  • Decklink monitor output cut-off…

Posted by Jimmy Brunger on November 10, 2006 at 5:53 pm

I just noticed today that my Decklink output (from AE or Photoshop) to my Broadcast monitor is slightly cut-off at the edges. I have tested by making a D1 PAL comp and putting arrows pointing outwards right on the edge of all 4 sides of screen and a few pixels are getting cut off.

Now I’ve switched off my underscan, and so assumed I’d see ALL the pixels/info I’m seeing on the PC screen? Or have I got this wrong?

    Any info appreciated.

Should be the other way around. If you switch off underscan on your broadcast monitor, some of the edges will not be displayed.

Sorry, that’s what I meant….so any idea if I *should* be seeing right to the edge of the picture with underscan off?

I only use my decklink for previewing at the mo, but when we get an RS422 cable plumbed in to the machine room I will be using the decklink I/O to grab/output my work and worried it might be blowing up my picutre or something and so it won’t match up with stuff outside my system…

    Thoughts?
