We have a Decklink Mini Monitor card in a 2011 MacPro and use multiple boot partitions on this machine and when we boot between different OS as from 10.8.5 to 10.9.5, or vice versa, we don’t get the dialog box that tells us the card needs a software update. As I understand it, it should. We use it primarily with Adobe CS6 and the performance is problematic – it works with some projects and not others.

I have a Mini Monitor in my own personal 2008 MacPro and it never fails on that machine and with a variety of media. My experience on my own machine is that it works flawlessly with Adobe, Avid MC, and Resolve lite.

Is there a way to force reset the card? Any other ideas? I’ve emailed Blackmagic Support twice and waited weeks with no response.

    Thanks,

    Russ

Install a driver on both OS’s that is the same and that works.

The differing drivers will req Firmware updates downgrades switching os’s – not a good idea.
