    Hi All,

We are having a problem with a DeckLink HD Pro Single Link. The system spec is as follows:

    2 x Intel Xeon 3.6GHz processors
    4GB memory (4 x 1GB modules)
Supermicro X6DAE-G2 motherboard (BIOS version 1.2c)
80GB SATA 10,000 rpm boot drive
NVIDIA Quadro FX 540 graphics card (tried various driver versions)
    DeckLink HD Pro Single Link
    Windows XP Pro SP2

When we install the software for the DeckLink HD Pro and re-boot XP we get a memory parity error blue screen when XP is starting and the system haults. We have swapped out every single component including the DeckLink board and even tried different models of graphics card and with every re-installation of XP and then the driver; we get the same blue screen parity error.

The exact blue screen message that we get is:

    Hardware malfunction
Call your hardware vendor for support
NMI Parity Check / memory and parity error
    ****this system has halted****

We need to get this system up and running ASAP so any advice is appreciated.

    Regards,

    Chris

Try disabling the parity check in the BIOS.
Maybe you don’t have the rigth type of ram for the supermicro mobo.

Downgraded the Supermicro motherboard bios to 1.2a and it works. Must be some problem with 1.2c and DeckLinks board. Don

I had the same problem with 1.2c bios. Supermicro tech support is working on it, just today they sent me a beta bios for the x6dae-g2 that fixes the problem. I’m sure they will have a new release version soon so keep your eyes on their website.

On my system when I first set it up I dropped frames quite a bit, but solved it by turning all the memory error checking options in the bios off, this almost doubled the memory benchmark test and it is much more stable now.

    Hi Stewart,

Thanks for the heads up regarding the beta bios and the memory checking. Any idea when this new bios will be released?

I don’t know when they will release it, but you might email support@supermicro.com and ask them to send the beta to you. I bet they would do it.
